November 6 – 10, 2017

This year sees 14 courses scheduled during the DoodleTrain week, 2 more than last year. Of these, 10 are returning, including “Fractured and shale reservoirs – from geological concepts to reservoir models” with Ahmed Oenes after a break for a couple of years, and 4 are new. Included in the new courses are “Pre and post seismic inversion” with Graham Carter, “Geostatistical applications in petroleum exploration” with Brian Russell, “Introduction to petroleum geomechanics for unconventional reservoirs” with Pat McLellan and “Logs analysis and interpretation” with Salman Khaild.

These courses cover a wide range of geophysical disciplines and the DoodleTrain Committee is proud to be able to present this array of topical and relevant courses to the geophysical community, especially during these current difficult times in our industry. We express our gratitude to all the companies who have enrolled staff, provided venues and financial support and also to the CSEG Foundation for helping underemployed geophysicists and assisting with funding for the winner of the Bill Nickerson Education Award.
