Happy Spring! Not to understate the obvious, but life has certainly changed since the last issue.Writing this column from home, while following social distancing protocols, has me looking for positives and evidence of good corporate citizenship. I recently saw an article about Serafina Energy, and how they recently purchased $10,000 worth of gift cards to help keep a small coffee shop in their building afloat during the next months (nice). Groups like the Emerging Professionals and Calgary Data Managers are looking at ways to keep their membership engaged through online educational opportunities. The CSEG also just hired a social media professional to help generate interest through our sites, and since starting, our accounts have posted relevant industry news and updates on the pandemic response. We’re making a difference.

If you need daily messages of hope these days, I recommend following the Alberta Health Services program Text4Hope. I’ve been getting messages since March 24th, and it’s full of ideas and tips to help keep yourself and your family safe and sane(ish). Text 393939 with COVID19HOPE to start.

If you have any personal, company or industry news, please send me an email: tti@csegrecorder.com or call at (403) 585-5204.
