February… the coldest month, the shortest month and also the most challenging month for announcements. As I collect announcements for February in December, it is always my shortest column. If you have changed jobs make sure people know how to find you so they can invite you to convention and Stampede parties. For service companies, it is a chance for free publicity for your company. Why would you pass that up? So everybody wins! There… how was THAT for a sales pitch for announcements?

On the Move...

Put your hands together for a warm welcome to Samantha Malach. Ms. Malach has joined Calgary’s oil and gas community with Edge Technologies Inc., a leader in seismic processing technologies.

Samantha started her oil and gas career in Denver working with Aguila doing business development in the US for the Canadian project management company. During her tenure, she became rooted in the Denver oil and gas community, connections that have proven to be beneficial both in business and in life. With this background she will certainly become engrained in Calgary’s oil and gas community.

In 2012 Samantha moved to Calgary full time, stepping away from the energy sector completely, and started a life in the arts. Having started her own photography company, www.hudsonray.com, and her own art gallery, www.facebook.com/feathergallery, the art part of her world was excelling, but something was missing. It was time to get back to connecting with people, serving clients, and getting back into oil and gas.

In an act of fate, some of Ms. Malach’s Colorado connections met with Jason Noble, the president of Edge Technologies Inc. A recommendation and a lunch later, Samantha joined Edge, and has already begun informing clients of Edge and their capabilities. Having an experienced staff, both domestic and international expertise, and a thorough understanding of leading seismic processing technologies, gives Ms. Malach the confidence and support to be the newest face to join the team and represent Edge.

Looking to connect? She’d love to. Email at samantha.malach@edge-tech.ca or call at 587-580-6508. Technologies Inc, visit their website, www.edge-tech.ca.
