January 2009. It is hard to believe. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were all worrying about what the millennium after all the computers in the world crashed! As we all know, it was a big non-event.

From everything I have read there is a lot of doom and gloom out there. I believe this will be a challenging year, but maybe not quite as bad as “they” say. We have had them before so think positive and remember that analysts always seem to be wrong...

I have been recovering from a back injury for the six weeks or so, so I haven’t been out and about to dig up announcements. So I apologize for the length of this column, I will do better next month.

Ken Mitchell, (a past Tracing the Industry columnist) has recently joined the Ve ro Energy team as Manager, Geophysics. Suzanne Gentile (Boyd PetroSearch) and Jeremy Janhsen would like to introduce Calgary’s newest Flames fan! Louis Arthur Cesare was born on November 9th weighing in at 7lbs 4oz, and measuring 21 inches long. Louis is a good natured baby and has brought incredible joy to his parents.
