Books for West Africa

Calling all CSEG members ... Do you have any geology or geophysics reference books or journals sitting on your shelf which you no longer need? Here's an opportunity to clear off your shelves and donate your publications to earth science students who will welcome your reference materials with open arms. CSEG member Taka Koning is organizing a sea shipment of books to go to the University of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria and to the University Agostinho Neto in Luanda, Angola. He reports that the libraries in these universities are almost devoid of geology and geophysics reference materials. Tako has spent the past five years working for Texaco in Nigeria and Angola, where he is presently stationed on a rotational basis. Texaco will be contributing towards the cost of the shipment.

If you have any books or journals you would like to donate, please call Tako or Henrietta Koning at (403) 284-01 00.
