Happy June! Is it summer yet? I wonder (by the time this magazine reaches your desk) if the Canucks will have actually won the Stanley Cup and if Winnipeg is getting an NHL team back… hmmmm… can you tell I’ve become addicted to hockey pools? Whatever. It’s June. It’s time for swatting mosquitoes whilst playing golf, or ultimate frisbee or soccer…

Quick congratulations go out to the winners of the GeoConvention’s Challenge Bowl: Chris Bird and Peter Gagliardi from the University of Calgary. Nice work!

Are You a Past Doodlespeil Chairman?

If so, the 2012 Doodlespeil Committee is looking for you! If you are a past Doodlespeil Chairman, or know of any, will you please contact us, through email or phone ASAP. The Committee is looking at doing some extra things with a special anniversary year coming up, and we would value your input.

Some upcoming changes are: redoing the official Doodlespeil website and modernizing the Doodlespeil Guy. Also, with all the construction on the new curling rink in Banff completed, the Doodlespeil will be moving back to Banff for 2012 and we are very excited about this return.

Both Victor Irwin (current chairman) and myself John Bertsch (past chairman) would be extremely happy to hear from our Past Doodlespeil Chairmen and certainly if anyone has a partially composed list from the past we would welcome this information as well.
