Energize your Future

What will tomorrow’s energy landscape look like?

How can governments, NGOs, major companies and all stakeholders work better together to build a truly sustainable and ethical future?

What skills and talents are needed for tomorrow’s leadership?

I will be attending this event and will have full coverage in January’s edition.

Canmore students attend the 2009 Honorary Address in Calgary!

From Rick Green, President of the Canmore Museum and Geoscience Centre Board:

I visited the Lawrence Grassi Middle School in Canmore and talked to the Principal, Paula Hanson, to find out if their grade 7 students were interested in attending the Honorary Address in Calgary. Hearing that Brian Keating was a speaker piqued her interest. However, there was no funding in her budget for buses. The Canmore Museum and Geoscience Centre sponsored the trip, made the arrangements and the Canmore students attended the student program of the Honorary Address in Calgary on the morning of November 3, 2009.

The day after the Honorary Address, I heard from Paula and she said the students were really pumped up over taking the trip to the Honorary Address. She passed along 53 names on thank you letters from the students! About 75 people attended on 2 buses, including teachers and helpers. From their thank you letters, they certainly enjoyed the presentations and the day's outing. The Canmore Museum and Geoscience Centre also had a booth with interesting displays in the lobby of the Jubilee Auditorium. CSEG Outreach has been pleased to be a supporter of the Museum for several years.
