Awards, Awards, Awards!

CSEG member Tooney Fink receives CSPG Presidents Award – for his role as the CSEG General Co-Chair for the 2008 CSEG/CSPG/CWLS Joint Annual Convention.

During the 2009 Convention, the CSPG Awards Night function featured the presentation of several awards. The 2008 CSPG President’s Award was presented by Lisa Griffith, CSPG Past President. Three bronzes by Peter Rice-Jones were given to the three 2008 Joint Annual Convention General Chairs. The CSPG bronzes are called “47 ½ Feet Deep” – perhaps a reminder of the first oil well in North America at Petrolia, in 1958. The Award announcement was also repeated at the May 21 CSPG luncheon.

WiSE Annual Golf Tournament

Save the date! The annual Women in Seismic golf tournament will be held on Monday, August 10th, 2009 at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Calgary. It is an annual event to provide a fun networking opportunity and to help raise funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

4th Annual Jr. Oilman’s Golf Tournament

This year’s event will be held at Lynx Ridge again on Thursday August 6th, 2009 and the format will be unchanged from last year’s event.
