Hello Grapevine Readers, G&G no longer stands for Geophysics and Geology. Now that May has arrived, the new acronym is Golfing & Gardening! April showers bring May flowers, and with it- warmer weather and more industry news. If you’re a golfer, you have probably had an opportunity to play a few rounds already. If you’re not a swinger (you know what I mean), then there’s a good chance you’ve at least been doing some yard work! Making the top of the announcement list this month is some baby news. Shannon Niemi (VP Marketing at Divestco) and her husband Steve delivered a healthy baby boy on Saturday, March 26th. Cooper Reid Skiba weighed in at 7lbs 3oz. True to Shannon’s personality & nature, she was in the hospital for a full 3 hours before being released to go home with the baby! Everyone is doing well and we wish them all the best.

Publisher gives a boost to oil patch service and supply companies

B & S Publications Inc., publishers of the Oil and Gas INDEX since 1987, is pleased to announce the March 1, 2005 launch of www.oilandgasindex.com with its free Service and Supply Search. The free Search has been developed as a meeting place for buyers and sellers of services and products in the western Canadian oil patch and uses the large and comprehensive customer database built over eighteen years of oil and gas publishing.

Each quarter, the INDEX publishes contact information for over 2700 active exploration and production companies in western Canada. The listings have been researched through use of provincial and federal corporate registries, provincial Gazettes and lists of leases, daily well reports, security filings, crown sale results and in numerous other sources. Unique to the INDEX is an extensive cross- reference section with over 4,400 listings of name changes, mergers and asset sales of the explorer and producers since 1987. There is also a comprehensive Service & Supply section, which lists companies alphabetically according to business types. To qualify for listings at oilandgasindex.com, companies must derive at least one-third of their business from the oil and gas industry.

All contractors are encouraged to take advantage of the free listings in the Service & Supply Search. Each should make sure they are listed under many business types to ensure proper promotion of all products and services. Service and supply companies should try the free Search to check for their listing(s). If they are not listed, a form will appear which can be completed and submitted online.
