Earth Signal’s 1st Annual Winter Golf Tournament
In October 2003 over 80 of Earth Signal’s clients accepted an invitation to join them in the first annual winter golf tournament.
Playing once a month in a match play tournament, participants have been enjoying some of the world’s most beautiful courses on Earth Signal’s own golf simulator.
Before the start of the fourth round, a get together was held to let everyone meet each other, compare standings and raise some money for charity. In a closest to the pin competition, over $1,000 was raised, which Earth Signal matched for a grand total of $2080. The money is being presented to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
After all the rounds are completed the top sixteen will battle it out to win the first ever Earth Signal Processing Golf Association Trophy. Stay tuned to find out who the champion is!

OpenSpirit Announcement
OpenSpirit Corporation (Houston, Texas) recently took another step toward fulfilling its mission to “provide access to all data from any platform to any software” in the upstream petroleum industry. In an agreement signed with ETL Solutions Ltd. (Wales, UK), OpenSpirit is now the exclusive worldwide seller of ETL’s Transformation Manager in the upstream market.
Transformation Manager provides an intelligent development and test environment to rapidly build “maps” between different data models of virtually any kind: xml, database, Java classes, or flat files/APIs. An integral code generator automatically produces portable Java code that can then be deployed independently of the tool in virtually any Java Virtual Machine. It is the tool’s real understanding of the meta-data, coupled with the automatic generation of standard Java code, that separates Transformation Manager from existing solutions.
By offering Transformation Manager as a stand-alone utility, OpenSpirit can now provide its customers with yet another option for accessing and transforming data. Transformation Manager’s data transformation capability may also be incorporate into a future release of OpenSpirit’s middleware architecture, which will further increase the ease of data type extensibility for data stores supported by OpenSpirit.
