Congratulations to Satinder Chopra who was recently awarded the CSEG 2002 Best Paper Luncheon Presentation Award for his talk on 'High Frequency Restoration of Surface Seismic Data'.

New Branch Office for Macdonald Cole Inc.

Boyd PetroSearch Expands Service Offerings

Boyd PetroSearch has acquired the VisualVoxAT software system from Geomodeling Technology Corp to provide 3D visualization, fault modeling and seismic facies mapping to Boyd's clients. This powerful system offers multi-attribute, strata-cube and neural network classification of seismic facies.

Eric Andersen has joined Boyd PetroSearch to provide improved reservoir characterization as well as superior exploration and development facies mapping using this software. It will complement the AVO analysis, inversion and stratigraphic modeling tools al ready in place at Boyd PetroSearch. Eric Anderson can be reached by phone at 543-5381.

Norex Geophysical Inc. has taken over the operations of Pacific Copy effective April 1st, 2003. Scanning, plotting, and tape copy services will be managed by Stuart Kennard at 2050, 300-5th Ave S.W. Phone (403) 265-4219. For tape copying, supported media types include 9 track, 3480/3490/3490e, DLT, 8 mm, 4mm, CD-R/RW. All standard SEG formats and various non-standard seismic formats are supported. Scanning and printing of microfiche, microfilm, basic seismic data, maps and seismic sections (striping for QI if needed ) are capable up to 36 inch width with a Contex 36 inch scanner and an HP 36 inch plotter. Output media include film/mylar, bond paper (8 inch fanfold or rolled), CD ROM and tape.
