Scott Pickford Renamed Reservoir Technologies Division of Core Laboratories

Scott Pickford, since 1998 a division of Core Laboratories, announced its new name: Core Laboratories Reservoir Technologies Division.

With offices in Calgary, Houston, London and Mexico, the Reservoir Technologies Division will continue to provide excellence in marine and land seismic data processing, advanced reservoir geophysics, and geoscience and engineering.

The Reservoir Technologies Division continues to lead the industry in developing LambdaMuRho techniques to extract rock properties from seismic. In addition, the Reservoir Technologies Division has developed new techniques for processing 3D VSP surveys and High Frequency Restoration (HFR), a new approach to use VSP data to restore bandwidth to surface seismic data.

The Reservoir Technologies Division's office in Calgary remains at 301, 400 - 3rd Avenue SW (Canterra Tower).

Bill Goodwin Starts His Own Consulting Company

Bill Goodwin wishes to announce that after more than thirty two years of land, marine, and transition data acquisition experience, both foreign and domestic, including five years recent employment with Boyd Exploration Consultants Calgary, he now operates his own consulting company. Terra-Sine Resources Ltd. success will be largely based on Bill's experience ranging from land operations in Canada, the U.S. and Middle East, to marine operations in the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas. Terra-Sine Resources Ltd. will provide total project management on 2D and 3D seismic projects, from inception, including 3D design and modeling using the latest release of SIS Omni Workshop, through completion and final plans submission.

Core Laboratories Acquires Business of Advanced Data Solutions

Core Laboratories has acquired the business of Houston-based velocity modeling and depth imaging specialists Advanced Data Solutions (ADS). The integration of ADS and Core's Reservoir Technologies Division is expected to create a powerful and unique range of services and products for the geophysical industry. In particular, it will create the means to quickly generate the most accurate depth sections, primarily in areas where a strong anisotropy effect is present. Depth imaging will become a significant element within Core Lab's Reservoir Technologies Division.

ADS, founded in 1988, possesses some of the industry's leading software solutions for pre-stack depth migration and is the supplier of VIEWS™', one of the most comprehensive velocity modeling packages available in the industry. Equally important in today's geophysical world, ADS pioneered seismic processing on dusters and has developed an unrivalled level of expertise in cluster management and optimization.

Among those joining Core Lab will be Rade Drecun, ADS's President; Bee Bednar, who will take up a position as VP of R&D for the Reservoir Technologies Division; Chuck Peng, formerly with Shell, who has been appointed Director of Technology Development; Rob Yorke and Martin Wood, both formerly with Veritas, who will be the Division's VP of Depth Imaging Services and Manager of New Product Development respectively.

Through its international network, Core will provide ADS's depth imaging technologies worldwide. The Canadian market will be among the first to be entered, where offshore East Coast datasets will benefit significantly from the application of a combined Core/ADS approach.
