New TerraSeis Software System for Windows™ 3.X/95/NT™

Terra Management Inc. announces the release of the Terra Seis Software System for Windows™ 3.X/95/NT™ personal computer platforms.

The System is a work process automation and data management tool for the geophysical and geological exploration industry. It provides for integration and tracking of the inventory of exploration data including AFE's, seismic sections and tapes, reports, well logs, maps, remote sensing and other related exploration data. Seismic line data can be viewed as shot point or stick plots in a geographically accurate format, well data and culture may be incorporated in the display.

25-Year-Old Calgary Company Secures New China Contract

While recently attending the World Petroleum Congress in China, Computalog signed a contract for the sale of $350,000 (US) of wireline equipment in the King Hi Oilfield.

Computalog recently entered into a joint venture agreement with Geoservices of France to form United Geocom Drilling Services, now the third largest directional drilling services firm in Canada. Computalog also continues to acquire a number of smaller U.S. based wireline companies as part of its long term objective of penetrating the lucrative, but fragmented, American petroleum services market.

Computalog has also stepped up operations in Venezuela, Argentina and India and is currently building on its successful new manufacturing joint venture in Daqing, China.

Western Geophysical to Construct New State-of-the-Art OBC Cable Boat

Western Geophysical has contracted with Service Marine Industries of Morgan City, Louisiana, to build a new state-of-the-art cable boat for ocean-bottom cable (GBC) seismic surveys.

Scheduled for delivery in November 1998, the new cable boat is 196 feet long and equipped with the latest GBC cable handling equipment. While the boat is purpose-built for worldwide usage, it will first be assigned to Western Geophysical's Gulf of Mexico GBC fleet.
