CANADA IN LIMELIGHT AT SECOND GEOTECHNICA TRADE SHOW

Over 20 Canadian firms and government agencies have signed up as exhibitors, and several academics have been invited as lecturers, assuring Canada great visibility at the second Geotechnica trade show for geosciences and technology in Cologne, Germany, May 5-8, 1993.

Show organizers are predicting 500 exhibitors from 14 countries at the four-day event, a 16% increase over 1991.

IHRDC’S CALGARY PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CENTER IS NOW IN FULL OPERATION

In response to dramatic changes in the Canadian oil industry, IHRDC, and 14 Founding Sponsor companies, officially opened the Calgary Petroleum Technology Transfer Center on March 1,1993.

In a time of company mergers, right-sizing, and refocusing, companies are still committed to training but are doing so with limited budgets and limited resources. The focus now is on “sharing-costs” and this innovative Center answers that need.

The Calgary Petroleum Technology Transfer Center will design and implement the shared training plans of its Member companies, and will house important training and technology transfer resources including all of IHRDC’s training products.

Members of the Center share the cost of programs, have access to a properly organized and managed training resource center where valuable training products are available at a modest, use-based cost, on an as-needed basis.

Individuals interested in obtaining additional information about the center should contact the Calgary Petroleum Technology Transfer Center, Attn: Barbara Young, 980, 401 9th Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2P 3C5. Phone: (403)263-6360; Fax: (403)263-6372.
