Fall is upon us, but it feels more like a beautiful summer day as I write this article in mid-September! Kids are back to school and we are all back to work, refreshed and ready to ramp it up for a busy winter season.

Our members have been busy with quite a few social events this past summer. I was very fortunate to attend the 61st Doodlebug this year, my first EVER! It was everything that everyone has sung praises about for many, many years. The 2013 Doodlebug Charity beneficiary was a young Kimberley resident, Jenna Homeniuk, fighting an aggressive form of leukemia. Well done Mark Watson, along with your entire committee. It was certainly a premier event!

Hot on the heels of the Doodlebug, the T-Wave Committee put together a fabulous tournament of golf at River Spirit. This annual, very well attended June event, was postponed in the wake of the flood as it ravaged the Inglewood golf course which was the home to this tournament. Jocelyn Frankow and her determined committee persevered and put on a fun-filled day of golf and prizes. The 2013 T-Wave Charity was “Light up the World” and donated more than $5,000.00. Come Hell or High Water! Hats off to the entire T-Wave Committee.

Good luck to all participants in the CSPG/SCEG/ CAPL Road Race and Fun Run and the Women in Seismic Golf Tournament which are coming up in mid-September!

At the October Technical Luncheon, we look forward to honoring, for the second year in a row, our long-term CSEG members. At last year’s luncheon the CSEG honored members of 10-60 years with our Society. At this luncheon we will honor new recipients in the 40-60 year category. If you have not received your memento from the last luncheon, please do not hesitate to contact the office or myself to ensure our records are updated to reflect your up-to-date information.

Enjoy the 2013 SEG in Houston all who are attending! Wishing you all have a very safe and productive fall/ winter season!
